BELLAMI wins on nearly every measurable axis: $0.25 a tab against our $0.75, a $12.00 remover against our $25, oil-free like ours, full ingredients published like ours, and 13,553 Trustpilot reviews against our none. Vanity wins one thing, a tape and a solvent engineered as a matched pair. Buy theirs unless you are running our tape.
We make one of the two products on this page, so read it with that in mind. BELLAMI beats us on price on every comparable line and matches us on ingredient disclosure, which is stated in the answer at the top, in the table, in their entries and in our own. We hold no affiliate arrangement with BELLAMI. Every third-party figure traces to a page we opened on 31 August 2026 and listed at the foot.
This is the page where our own positioning holds up worst, and there is no honest way to open it other than by conceding the argument.
BELLAMI is cheaper per tab. Single Sided Replacement Tape is $12.00 for 48 tabs, which is $0.25 each, at the same 4cm by 0.8cm footprint the whole category uses. Ours is $45 for 60, which is $0.75. BELLAMI is cheaper on the remover: the Hair Extension Release Spray is $12.00 against our $25. Their remover is oil-free exactly as ours is, because it is alcohol-based, so nothing oily is deposited and a fresh tab goes on in the same appointment with no clarifying wash. And they publish their ingredients exactly as we do: Isopropyl Alcohol, Propanediol, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Isododecane, printed on the product page under a statement that the formula contains no petrochemicals or synthetic colorants.
So the two lines a smaller brand normally reaches for here, only oil-free and only transparent, are both false, and BELLAMI is the counterexample that makes them false. Some of our own earlier pages leaned on them. They were wrong and they have been corrected. What survives for us is two things, and we argue them in one place rather than spreading them thin across ten.
What we compared, and what we did not
A head to head is only useful if the axes are named before the argument starts. We compared the two consumables a stylist actually reorders, a replacement tape tab and a bond remover, on published price, published specification, cost per head, workflow after removal, what each brand discloses, and what independent review evidence exists on either side. BELLAMI hair is out of scope. We have installed BELLAMI wefts and re-tabbed them with our own tabs in a working salon, but we have run no laboratory test on anything named here and nothing below should be read as one.
- Cost per tab
- What a full head of consumables costs to reorder
- Remover price and base
- Oil-free decides whether you shampoo mid-appointment
- Ingredient disclosure
- Full published list, partial, or none
- Pairing
- Was the solvent built against this specific adhesive
- What is published
- Counts, volumes and yields, or blank cells
- Independent review evidence
- What a buyer can check before ordering

BELLAMI figures as published on bellamihair.com product pages, read 31 August 2026. Individual product pages show public retail; collection pages are gated behind a professional login and the professional discount is never published. Vanity figures are our own prices divided by our own counts. Blank cells mean the figure is not published, not that we could not be bothered to look. Wear figures on both sides are claims rather than laboratory results.
1. BELLAMI Hair Extension Release Spray
$12.00 · alcohol-based, oil-free · full ingredient list published · spray, wait 3-5 seconds, manipulate · written for Tape-In and K-Tip bonds
This is the product that took two claims off our own site, so it goes first.
The Release Spray is $12.00. Ours is $25. Theirs is alcohol-based and oil-free, which is the property that decides whether you shampoo in the middle of an appointment or press a fresh tab straight in, and on that decisive property the two products behave the same way. Anyone still writing that there is one oil-free remover in this category is wrong, and until recently that included us.
The ingredient disclosure is the second thing people get wrong about BELLAMI. They publish the full list on the product page: Isopropyl Alcohol, Propanediol, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Isododecane, under a statement that the formula contains no petrochemicals or synthetic colorants. Ours is isopropyl alcohol, methyl ethyl ketone, ethyl acetate and deionised water, also published in full. Two brands doing the same thing, one at less than half the price. It is not a point of difference and we are not going to dress it up as one. Their stated method is faster on paper too: spray, wait three to five seconds, manipulate the tape until it loosens, against about thirty seconds a side for us. Neither figure is a measured result. Both are directions for use.
The one real gap is the bottle. BELLAMI does not publish a volume anywhere we could find, and that is not a small omission on a consumable. Without a volume, $12.00 cannot be turned into a price per ounce or a cost per removal, which is the figure a stylist budgets a service around. It is the single place in this comparison where we disclose something they do not, and it is worth exactly as much as one number is worth.
What it does well
- $12.00 against our $25.00 for the same oil-free removal job
- Complete ingredient list published on the product page, as ours is
- A stated 3-5 second dwell, the fastest published in this cluster
- Public retail price with no professional account required
- Written for K-Tip bonds as well as tape, so one bottle covers two methods
Where it loses
The bottle size is not published anywhere we could find, so no price per ounce and no cost per removal can be worked out for it by anyone, BELLAMI included. Being written for both Tape-In and K-Tip bonds also means it is tuned across more than one bond chemistry rather than against a single adhesive. Like every alcohol solvent, ours included, it is flammable and needs ventilation.
Verdict. The best combination of price and disclosure on a remover that we are aware of. If you are not running our tape, this is the better buy and we would rather say so than have you find it in one click.
2. BELLAMI the replacement tape range
Single Sided $12.00 / 48 tabs / $0.25 each · Double Sided $15.00, count not published · Weft Strips $11.00 · Weft Roll $10.00 / 3 yards · 4cm x 0.8cm where dimensions are given
Four tape formats against our one, at a third of our price on the only SKU where the arithmetic can be done.
Single Sided Replacement Tape is $12.00 for 48 tabs, which is $0.25 a tab, published at 1-9/16 by 5/16 of an inch, or 4cm by 0.8cm. That is the same footprint Big Kizzy describes as the category standard, so these tabs fit essentially any tape-in weft including ours. Ours are $45 for 60, which is $0.75. Three times the price for an identical published dimension is not a rounding difference and no argument about engineering shrinks it.
The range is shaped around their own hair rather than around a theory of adhesive. Double Sided Replacement Tape is $15.00, described as acrylic adhesive for the strongest hold with a polyurethane carrier to keep the tab flexible, stated hold four to ten weeks. Single-Sided Replacement Tape Strips at $11.00 carry what the page calls the same medical-grade adhesive used in the Classic tape-ins, sold to extend wear and reusability of the Express Weft line to its full six to twelve months. A Double-Sided Replacement Tape Roll is $10.00 for three yards. That is a genuine advantage of the kind competitors skip: a tab cut for the weft it is going on beats a generic tab from a specialist, because the strip and the weft were specified together.
Where the range goes quiet is counts. One of the four SKUs publishes how many pieces are in the pack, so three cannot be converted into a cost per tab at all. And 48 tabs is 24 sandwiches, six short of the 30 a full head needs.
What it does well
- $0.25 a tab on the single-sided pack against our $0.75
- Four formats against our one, including pre-cut weft strips and a 3 yard roll
- Published dimensions of 4cm x 0.8cm on both tab SKUs, matching the category standard
- A stated hold of 4-10 weeks, where several rivals publish nothing
- Weft strips specified for the exact weft they go on, which a generic tab cannot be
Where it loses
Counts are published on one SKU of four, so three of them cannot be costed per tab or per head. The 48-tab pack is 24 sandwiches and short of a full head. Collection pages are gated behind a professional login and the professional discount percentage is never published, so a stylist cannot see the price they would actually pay before opening an account. The 4-10 week hold is a brand claim with no test published behind it.
Verdict. Cheap, sensibly formatted for its own hair, and half-specified on quantity. Buy the single-sided pack if you want a figure you can check.
3. Vanity Replacement Tape Tabs and The Clean Remover
60 tabs for $45 ($0.75 a tab, 30 sandwiches, one full head) · 4.0 fl oz remover for $25, about 30 removals, about $0.83 a removal
We are three times their price on the tab and more than twice their price on the remover, and their remover is oil-free and fully disclosed exactly as ours is. So this entry stands on two things or it does not stand at all.
The first is the matched pair. BELLAMI's Release Spray has to work against whatever it meets, and their own directions say so: it is written for Tape-In bonds and for K-Tip bonds, two different chemistries, and in a working salon it will meet Big Kizzy tape, Walker tape and ours as well. That is the correct decision for a company selling four installation methods, and it means the solvent is tuned across a family. Ours is asked to do one job. Jaci Finch and Tru Eastman developed the tab and the solvent against each other over about ten years of daily salon use, adjusting one when the other misbehaved, and neither product is an accessory to a hair business because we do not have one. What we observe is more bonds opening on the first application of our own tape, which is an observation from our chair rather than a controlled result, and on BELLAMI adhesive it is worth nothing at all.
The second is the complete system in one box with the arithmetic printed on it. The Tape Extension Removal Kit is $85 with the remover, 60 tabs and the application tool; the Complete Tape Extension System is $95 and adds the full written method. BELLAMI sells tabs, strips, a roll and a spray as four separate lines and routes method into a $1,199.00 Master Class, so there is nothing between a consumable and a two-day certification. And we publish the yield: 4.0 fl oz at $25 gives about 30 removals, about $0.83 each, division shown. BELLAMI publishes a price and no volume, so no equivalent figure exists for their spray.
That is the whole case. Everything else they do as well or better, and one more thing we will not soften: our remover underperforms on other brands' tape, including BELLAMI's, because it was formulated against ours. That is our own doctrine rather than a caveat. If BELLAMI hair with BELLAMI tape is on the head, the correct bottle to reach for is theirs.
What it does well
- Tab and solvent engineered against each other, not against a category
- Neither product is an accessory to a hair line, because we sell no hair
- Everything in one box at $85 or $95, including the application tool and the written method
- About $0.83 a removal, published with the arithmetic that produces it
- 60 tabs is exactly 30 sandwiches, one full head, with no second pack to open
Where it loses
Three times BELLAMI's price per tab, $0.75 against $0.25, and more than double on the remover, $25 against $12.00. We are the most expensive tab and the most expensive remover in this category and no framing changes that. One tab format against their four. Our remover is oil-free, but so is theirs, and we publish our formulation, but so do they, so neither is a differentiator. We sell no hair, no single-sided tab, no roll, no standalone application tool, no certification course, and we hold no third-party vegan or cruelty-free certification. We have zero verified customer reviews published to date against their 13,553. The matched pair is worth nothing on their adhesive, which is most of the heads this page will be read about.
Verdict. Worth the premium only if our tape is on the head and first-pass release is costing you chair time. In every other case, theirs.
4. Hair company or tape company, which is the real axis
BELLAMI sells hair in six methods and 70-plus shades, with tape as a supporting line · Vanity sells four SKUs and no hair
Strip out the prices and one structural difference is left. It is the only one that survives scrutiny, so it is worth stating carefully rather than inflating.
BELLAMI is a hair company. The tape products exist so that BELLAMI hair can be installed and reinstalled, and they are priced as accessories to a pack of hair rather than as a business in their own right. That is why the weft strips are specified for the Express Weft line, why the Release Spray is written for Tape-In and K-Tip bonds, and why the tab range is four formats rather than nine adhesive strengths. Every one of those decisions is correct for a company whose product is hair. We are a tape company with no hair at all, so the tab and the solvent are the whole business and were developed against each other rather than around a weft catalogue. That is the honest axis. It is not a claim that our chemistry is better, because we have not tested theirs and neither has anyone else in public.
It cuts both ways. A hair company cuts its tab for its own weft, which is a real advantage a specialist cannot match. A specialist is independent of any hair line, so its tab does not change when a hair line changes and does not disappear if a hair business moves on, which has happened twice in this category recently. Neither is a knockout. The practical version, for a salon installing more than one brand: if BELLAMI hair with BELLAMI tape is on the head, buy their spray, because it is $12.00 and was written for that bond. If our tape is on the head, ours does more. If you inherit an install in an adhesive nobody can identify, a universal solvent is the right tool, and both theirs and Big Kizzy's Remover 1 are that.
What it does well
- A tab specified for the exact weft it goes on is a genuine advantage for BELLAMI
- A tape supplier independent of any hair line does not follow that line's commercial decisions
- The two positions are different trades rather than one being simply better
Where it loses
Our independence buys a stylist nothing on its own if the tape and solvent are three times the price, and it is the argument a small brand reaches for once it has lost on the numbers. BELLAMI's position, in turn, means a buyer cannot get the tab, the solvent, the tool and the written method as one purchase, and has to choose between a consumable and a $1,199.00 certification with nothing between them.
Verdict. Choose the shape of supplier you want, then let the price decide. For most stylists the price decides it before the shape does.
Which one should you actually buy
Buy BELLAMI if consumable cost matters, if you install their hair, if you want a published ingredient list at $12.00, or if you want a tab format cut for a specific weft. Buy Vanity only if our tape is on the head and you want the matched solvent, the whole system in one box, and the per-removal cost published.
- Buy BELLAMI if your constraint is money. $0.25 a tab against $0.75, and $12.00 against $25 on the remover. That is the whole argument and it is a good one.
- Buy BELLAMI if you install their hair. The weft strips carry what the page calls the same medical-grade adhesive as the Classic tape-ins, and no generic tab is specified that precisely. Same answer if you also install K-tips, because their spray is written for both bond types where ours is written for tape.
- Buy BELLAMI if independent review evidence matters to you before ordering. They have 13,553 published reviews. We have none.
- Buy Vanity if our tape is on the head and repeat applications across a full-head removal are costing you time, or if you want the remover, 60 tabs, the tool and the written method to arrive together at $85 or $95 with the per-removal cost published as arithmetic.
The price comparison, printed rather than avoided
A standard full head is 30 sandwiches, which is 60 tabs. That single number turns two price lists into a decision, so here it is on published figures with the unpublished cells left empty.
| Tab pack, as published | Per tab | 60 tabs, one head | Remover | Per removal | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BELLAMI single sided | 48 for $12.00 | $0.25 | $15.00 | $12.00 | Not computable, no volume published |
| BELLAMI double sided | $15.00, count not published | $12.00 | |||
| Vanity | 60 for $45 | $0.75 | $45.00 | $25, 4.0 fl oz | About $0.83 |
| Big Kizzy Regular Hold, for context | 72 for $15.99 | About $0.22 | About $13.20 | From $16.99, 8 fl oz | Not published |
BELLAMI does not publish the double-sided tab count or the Release Spray bottle size, so those cells are empty because no honest figure exists for them. Big Kizzy is included only to show that our price sits above both of the brands a stylist is most likely to compare us with.
Scale it. A stylist doing two move-ups a week is a hundred heads a year, or 6,000 tabs. At $0.25 that is $1,500. At $0.75 it is $4,500. Three thousand dollars a year in tabs alone is not a rounding error in a small business. The remover half cannot be compared at all: we publish 4.0 fl oz, about 30 removals and about $0.83 each, while BELLAMI publishes $12.00 and no volume, so their spray could be far cheaper per use than ours or it could be a small bottle. Nobody can tell from published figures, and we will not guess a number in our favour or theirs. If you cannot say specifically what the pairing is buying you, the tab gap decides it, and the tab gap points at BELLAMI.
Where the two products are genuinely the same
Comparison pages tend to manufacture difference, so it is worth naming the places where there is none. Both removers are alcohol-based and oil-free, so both support removal and re-tabbing in one appointment with no shampoo in between. Both brands publish a complete ingredient list on the product page, which almost nobody else in this category does: Big Kizzy publishes none for any of its three removers and Walker publishes none for any of its four. Both tabs sit at the industry-standard 4cm by 0.8cm footprint, so tabs from either brand fit essentially any tape-in weft, including each other's. And neither company has published a controlled wear test, so treat every duration figure here, BELLAMI's four to ten weeks included, as positioning rather than data.
What the review evidence is worth on each side
BELLAMI has 13,553 Trustpilot reviews at 3.7 out of 5 with 18 percent at one star, ranked 13th of 14 in its category. Vanity has none at all. Their complaint themes are tangling, shedding, matting, colour mismatch and price against quality, which are hair complaints rather than tape complaints.

| Complaints about tape | None we could find |
Read on trustpilot.com/review/bellamihair.com, 31 August 2026, and reported as a cited third-party fact in prose only. This site emits no rating markup of any kind on any page, because we have no review corpus of our own and would not display one here even if we did.
Eighteen percent one-star on a sample that size is a poor number and it would be silly to soften it. But what those complaints are about matters more than what they score. The themes are tangling, shedding, matting, premature wear, colour that arrived wrong twice, disputes over whether the hair is genuinely Remy, incomplete orders and slow service. They are not complaints about tape slipping or adhesive residue. We looked specifically, because we sell a competing tape and would benefit from finding them, and there is no credible complaint corpus about BELLAMI tape failing. A page that used this record as evidence against their tape would be misreading its own citation.
There is one fair use of the number, and it cuts against a lazy assumption rather than against BELLAMI. Buyers assume a large recognised brand produces fewer unhappy customers than an anonymous marketplace listing. It does not follow. We read fourteen Amazon tape-tab listings on 31 August 2026 and recorded the star distributions from Amazon's own on-page review summaries: nine of the fourteen sat at 4.2 stars or better, and most one-star shares ran between about 4 and 15 percent. BELLAMI's 18 percent sits above most of that range. Those summaries render client-side for a logged-out reader, so we cannot hand you a link that reproduces them, and you should treat it as our own reading rather than a citation.
The flammability point, which applies to both
Our remover is alcohol-based and flammable. Say it out loud, keep it away from heat and open flame, work in a ventilated space, and cap the bottle between bonds rather than leaving it open on the station. BELLAMI's Release Spray is isopropyl alcohol based and deserves exactly the same handling, and so does Big Kizzy's oil-free Remover 1. This is not a competitive point in either direction. It is the price of a solvent that flashes off, and a solvent that flashes off is what buys you the no-wash workflow both brands are selling.
What a switch actually costs you
- Do not take down a working installBoth brands sit at the standard 4cm by 0.8cm footprint, so you change tab supplier at the next scheduled move-up. There is no benefit to an early removal and there is real risk of breakage in one.
- Work out your annual tab spend firstHeads per year multiplied by 60 tabs multiplied by your per-tab price. A hundred heads is $1,500 at BELLAMI's $0.25 and $4,500 at our $0.75. That difference is the honest size of the decision.
- Check whether the pairing is doing anything for youCount how many bonds on your next full-head removal need a second application. If it is one or two, a matched solvent is buying you almost nothing and you are paying a premium for it.
- Ask BELLAMI for the bottle size, and count the pack against a headWithout a volume nobody can prove the Release Spray is or is not the cheapest oil-free removal per use. On tabs, 60 is one full head; their single-sided 48 is 24 sandwiches, so plan for the second pack rather than discovering it six sandwiches from the end.
- Buy one pack, not a yearAdhesive degrades in heat and humidity. Run a single pack across three or four heads and let your own chair settle it before you commit stock.
If price is the reason
Reorder BELLAMI. Their tabs are $0.25 against our $0.75 and their remover is $12.00 against our $25, and both keep the oil-free workflow. We would rather you got a clean removal than a Vanity order. Read our full BELLAMI tape review
Using BELLAMI hair with our tape, or ours with theirs
Tabs at the standard 4cm by 0.8cm footprint are interchangeable in the physical sense, so you can strip the old tape off a BELLAMI weft, clean the edge and re-tab it with ours, or the reverse. Jaci has done exactly that with BELLAMI wefts in the chair. What does not transfer is the pairing. Our solvent has no advantage on their adhesive and theirs has none on ours, and mixing halves of two systems gives you the price of ours with the release behaviour of neither.
Re-tabbing another brand of hair
Vanity tabs fit any standard weft, including hair bought from BELLAMI. The remover is a different question, and the honest answer is that ours underperforms on other brands' adhesive. We have written that up separately rather than burying it. Does Vanity work with other brands
What BELLAMI does better than us
Price per tab, by three to one. $12.00 for 48 single-sided tabs is $0.25 each against our $45 for 60, which is $0.75, at an identical published footprint of 4cm by 0.8cm. On a 60-tab full head that is $15.00 of their consumables against $45.00 of ours, and across a hundred heads a year it is roughly three thousand dollars. That is the headline of this page and nothing further down changes it.
Price on the remover, by two to one. Their Hair Extension Release Spray is $12.00 against our $25, and both do the same job in the same appointment. If all you need is a bond broken without an oily residue, they are the cheaper way to do it.
Oil-free, exactly as we are. Their spray is alcohol-based, so nothing oily is deposited and a fresh tab presses in with no clarifying wash between. That is the same behaviour our remover delivers and the same behaviour Big Kizzy's Remover 1 delivers. Oil-free is not our differentiator, we do not own it, and anyone claiming otherwise, including our own earlier pages, was wrong.
Full ingredient disclosure, exactly as we do, at less than half the price. They publish Isopropyl Alcohol, Propanediol, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Isododecane on the product page, under a statement that the formula contains no petrochemicals or synthetic colorants. We publish four ingredients too. On transparency we are level rather than ahead, and on the price of that transparency we are behind. Big Kizzy and Walker publish nothing for any remover, so BELLAMI is the counterexample that kills the claim.
Independent review evidence. 13,553 published Trustpilot reviews against our zero. The score is 3.7 with 18 percent at one star, which we have reported honestly rather than quoted selectively, but the point for a buyer is the existence of the corpus. They can check BELLAMI against thousands of strangers. They cannot check us against anybody, and no amount of writing fixes that.
Range, hair and education. Four tape formats against our one, including weft strips cut for a specific line and a three-yard roll. Hair in six installation methods and 70-plus shades, which we do not sell in any form. And a two-day Master Class at $1,199.00 covering tape-ins, K-tips, I-tips and wefts, licence-gated with proof required at purchase and ending in certification. We sell a written guide in a box, and calling that education infrastructure would be a stretch.
What this comparison is based on, and what it is not
This comparison rests on two things. First, using both tape systems in a working salon in Orem, Utah, including installing BELLAMI wefts and re-tabbing them with our own tabs. Second, the prices, counts, dimensions, ingredients and directions published on BELLAMI's own product pages, all opened on 31 August 2026 and listed in full below. Our own figures are our published prices divided by our published counts, with the arithmetic shown so you can check it.
We have run no laboratory test of adhesion, wear duration, residue or skin response on any product named here, and nothing on this page should be read as one. Every wear and hold figure, BELLAMI's four to ten weeks included, is the manufacturer's own claim reproduced as a claim. The three to five second dwell on their spray and the roughly thirty seconds a side on ours are directions for use rather than measurements. Our observation that a matched pair releases on the first application more often is an observation from our own chair. Where BELLAMI does not publish a bottle volume or a tab count we have written that rather than estimating it, which is why several cells above are empty.
The Trustpilot figures are reported as a cited third-party fact with the date read. This site emits no rating markup of any kind, on this page or any other, and we have no verified review corpus of our own to set against theirs. The comparison with Amazon generic tab listings comes from our own reading of fourteen listings on 31 August 2026 using Amazon's on-page review summaries; those summaries render client-side for a logged-out reader and cannot be linked in a way that reproduces, so we have flagged that reading as ours rather than citing it. We make one of the two products compared, BELLAMI beats us on price on every comparable line and matches us on ingredient disclosure, and those conclusions are stated in the answer at the top, in the table, in both sets of entries and in a section of their own.
