If you are leaving Big Kizzy on price, nothing here helps: Remover 1 is oil-free at about $2.12 an ounce and Regular Hold tabs are $0.22 each, both cheaper than ours. Leave for a matched tape-and-solvent pair, a complete kit in one box, or published yield arithmetic. Otherwise stay.
We make a tape tab and an oil-free remover that compete directly with Big Kizzy, and they are cheaper than ours on every comparable line. That is stated in the table, in our own entry, in a section of its own and in the answer at the top of this page rather than buried. We have no affiliate arrangement with any brand named here and earn nothing from any link on this page except our own. Every third-party figure traces to a page we opened on 31 August 2026 and listed at the foot.
Big Kizzy is the brand we send people to when they are not running our tape, so it is worth being blunt at the top: most people who arrive on a page like this should probably go back and reorder.
The range is the most complete in this category and it is not close. Their tape collection lists thirteen named tab lines across double-sided and single-sided formats, from Extra Hold and Regular Hold down to Original Brown, Seamless Hold, Ultra Stick, Pro Hold, Classic Blue and No Show. Three removers cover bond release, stranded residue and conditioning. An application tool sells on its own at $29.99. Every price is on the page without a login, which two of the better-known professional brands in this space cannot say.
So this page is not an argument that Big Kizzy is bad. It is an attempt to work out which of the four reasons for leaving actually has an answer, and to say plainly which two do not. Price is the one that does not. Regular Hold tabs are 72 for $15.99, which is about $0.22 each, and Remover 1 is 8 fl oz for $16.99, which is about $2.12 an ounce. Ours are $0.75 a tab and $6.25 an ounce. Anyone leaving Big Kizzy purely on price is not going to find relief at Vanity, and we would rather say that in those words at the top than let you find it out at the checkout.
What follows is the routing. Four alternatives with real detail, a table that sends you to the right one, and a section on who should simply stay.
How we decided what counts as an alternative
An alternatives page is only useful if it starts from why you are leaving, because the four common reasons route to four different products and for two of them the right answer is not us. We judged each option on what it costs per tab and per ounce where that is published, whether the remover is oil-free, whether the tape and the solvent come from the same company, whether pricing is visible without a trade account, and what the brand actually states about wear. We have used Big Kizzy, Walker and our own products in a working salon. We have not run a controlled laboratory test of adhesion, wear or residue on anything here, and nothing on this page should be read as one.
- Reason for leaving
- Each one routes somewhere different

- Remover base
- Oil-free means no wash before re-tabbing
- Matched or universal

- Stated as a gap rather than filled in
The short version
| Option | Tabs, as published | Per tab | Remover | Base | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

| Bellami | 48 for $12.00 (single sided) | $0.25 | Release Spray, $12.00 | Alcohol, INCI published | Cheapest published pairing |
| Walker Tape Beautify | 120 per bag, eight formulations | Extension Release / No Trace, 4 fl oz | Alcohol, no cleanup | Choice of tab formulation | |
| Vanity | 60 for $45 | $0.75 | The Clean Remover, 4.0 fl oz, $25 | Oil-free | Matched pair in one box |
| The Hair Shop | Tape-in Remover, 3.4 fl oz, $9.50 | Alcohol with mineral oil | Cheapest full-INCI remover | ||
| Babe / Hotheads | 48 / 60 per pack | Professional distribution channel |
Figures as published on each brand's own product pages, read 31 August 2026. Where a count or a bottle size is not published we have left the cell blank rather than estimate. Bellami's Release Spray volume is not published, so no per-ounce figure for it exists and we have not computed one.
1. Bellami Single Sided Replacement Tape and Hair Extension Release Spray
48 tabs for $12.00, $0.25 a tab, 4cm x 0.8cm - Release Spray $12.00, alcohol-based, full INCI published, bottle size not published
If the reason you are leaving Big Kizzy is anything price-adjacent, Bellami is the first place to look, and it is slightly awkward for us to have to say so.
Their Single Sided Replacement Tape is $12.00 for 48 tabs, which is $0.25 each, at the same 4cm by 0.8cm footprint the whole category uses. That is a shade dearer than Big Kizzy Regular Hold at about $0.22, and a third of ours at $0.75. The Double Sided Replacement Tape is $15.00, though the count is not published, so no per-tab figure for it exists and we have not invented one. There is also a Double-Sided Replacement Tape Roll for Tape-In Weft at $10.00 for 3 yards, and Single-Sided Replacement Tape Strips at $11.00 with the count not published.
The remover is the part that matters. Their Hair Extension Release Spray is $12.00 and alcohol-based, and Bellami publishes the full ingredient list on the page: Isopropyl Alcohol, Propanediol, Neopentyl, Glycol Diheptanoate, Isododecane. That is a fuller disclosure than Big Kizzy offer for Remover 1, whose page states only that it is alcohol-based and oil-free. It is also the same class of formulation ours is, which means it delivers the same behaviour: nothing oily is deposited, so you can press a fresh tab in the same appointment without a clarifying wash.
The gap is what is not on the page. The bottle size is not published anywhere we could find, which means there is no per-ounce figure and no per-removal figure for it. A $12.00 remover of unknown volume cannot be compared honestly against an $16.99 remover of 8 fl oz, and we are not going to pretend otherwise in either direction.
The other thing to weigh is what Bellami is. It is a hair company that also sells tape, and their tape exists to support the hair. Their tab page describes it as designed specifically for their own Professional Tape-In Hair Extensions, then adds that it is compatible with all similar size wefts. That is fine. It just means the tape is not the product the company is organised around, which is the same observation that cuts against them and for a specialist.
What it does well
- $0.25 a tab on a published 48-count pack, at the standard 4cm x 0.8cm
- $12.00 remover, alcohol-based, so no wash before re-tabbing
- Full INCI published on the remover page
- Adhesive described as acrylic with a polyurethane carrier, hold stated at 4-10 weeks
- Retail prices visible on product pages without a trade login
Where it loses
The Release Spray bottle size is not published, so neither a per-ounce nor a per-removal cost can be worked out. The Double Sided tab count and the weft strip count are also not published. Bellami is a hair company first, so the tape is an accessory to the hair rather than the thing the business is built on, and their Trustpilot record sits at 3.7 out of 5 across 13,553 reviews.
Verdict. The cheapest published pairing that keeps the oil-free workflow and shows you what is in the bottle. The unpublished volume is the one real irritation.
2. Walker Tape Beautify extension tabs
Eight extension tab SKUs at 120 pieces a bag, for extensions up to 1cm x 4cm - stated 4-6 weeks - pricing requires a trade login
Walker is usually described as the lace and wig company, and their heritage is exactly that: founded in 1985, and their own site calls them the industry leader in tape and adhesive for hair replacement systems. What that description misses is Beautify, which is a genuinely extension-focused sub-brand.
The tab listing runs to eight SKUs, all at 120 pieces a bag: Ultra Hold, Duo-Pro, Duo-Elite, No Shine, Natural Hold, Natural Hold Single-Sided, Lace Front and Pro-Flex II. Each is sized for extensions up to 1cm by 4cm. That is a wider choice of tab formulation than any other brand we have looked at, including Big Kizzy, and the differentiation is by property rather than by hold number. No Shine is described as hypoallergenic with a dull finish. Duo-Pro is described as the first tape made exclusively for extensions, with one side designed for wefts and the other optimised for hair. Duo-Elite has a stronger hold on the natural-hair side.
If your reason for leaving Big Kizzy is that you want a specific property rather than a specific strength - a hypoallergenic tab for a reactive scalp, an asymmetric tab that grips the weft harder than the hair - Walker is the only place in this list that sells it.
The solvent side is better than Walker's citrus reputation suggests too, and this is the part most comparisons get wrong. Beautify carries four extension-specific removers at 4 fl oz besides C-22: Extension Release, which Walker call their first and most popular extension remover and describe as alcohol-based and skin-safe; No Trace, described as alcohol-based and formulated with the strength to slice through bonds like an oil-based solvent; Weft Release; and Gel Release. Both Extension Release and No Trace state on their own pages that they evaporate without cleanup. That is the same no-wash workflow Big Kizzy Remover 1 and ours deliver. Oil-free removal is not a differentiator for anyone here, us included, and we would rather correct that than lean on it.
Two things count against them and both are practical rather than technical. Walker states 4-6 weeks for all Beautify tapes, which is a more conservative figure than Big Kizzy state for the same category, and we think Walker deserve credit rather than criticism for that: it is closer to what a move-up cycle actually looks like than a 7+ week claim. But it does mean you are switching to a brand that promises less on paper.
The second is pricing, and it is the real obstacle. Every Beautify tab page and every Beautify remover page on walkertapeco.com shows Log in to see price. There is no published retail figure anywhere, so a buyer coming from Big Kizzy, who is used to seeing every price on the collection page, cannot work out what a head of consumables costs before opening a trade account. Third-party resellers list Beautify products - one lists Natural Hold from $11.99 across formats - but that is a reseller figure on a reseller margin, not Walker's, and we are not going to build a per-tab arithmetic on it and present it as theirs.
What it does well
- Eight extension tab formulations at 120 pieces a bag, the widest choice in the category
- No Shine is described as hypoallergenic with a dull finish
- Duo-Pro and Duo-Elite are asymmetric by design, weft side and hair side treated differently
- Four alcohol-based extension removers besides C-22, two of which state they evaporate without cleanup
- Stated 4-6 weeks, which is more conservative than most extension brands claim
- Forty years of adhesive manufacturing behind the formulations
Where it loses
No published pricing at all. Every Beautify tab and remover page requires a trade login to see a figure, so you cannot cost a head before opening an account and no per-tab or per-ounce comparison against Big Kizzy is possible. No ingredient list is published for any of the removers either; the C-22 safety data sheet names only aloe barbadensis leaf juice at 5-10 percent and withholds the rest as a trade secret. Pack counts are fixed at 120, which is two full heads rather than one.
Verdict. The right switch if you want a specific tab property or a hypoallergenic claim. The obstacle is entirely commercial: you cannot see a price.
3. Vanity Replacement Tape Tabs and The Clean Remover
60 tabs for $45 ($0.75 a tab, 30 sandwiches, one full head) - 4.0 fl oz remover for $25, about 30 removals, about $0.83 a removal, $6.25 an ounce
We are the most expensive tab and the most expensive remover on this page and there is no framing that makes that go away. $0.75 a tab against Big Kizzy at about $0.22 and Bellami at $0.25. $6.25 an ounce against Big Kizzy at about $2.12. If price is your reason for leaving, we are the wrong direction and you should scroll back to the first two entries.
There are three reasons someone leaves Big Kizzy that we can actually answer, and they are all narrow.
The first is wanting the tape and the solvent from one company as a matched pair. Big Kizzy Remover 1 is built to work across every tape adhesive in circulation, which is the correct commercial decision for a supplier whose customers install whatever a client brings, and their Regular Hold page names Bellami, Donna Bella, HairTalk, Babe and Glam Seamless as brands their tabs work with. That universality is a real strength and it is also a compromise everywhere. Our tab and our solvent were developed against each other by Jaci Finch and Tru Eastman over about ten years of daily salon use, adjusting one when the other misbehaved. In our chair that shows up as more bonds opening on the first application of our own tape. On anybody else's tape it buys you nothing, and we say so on every page that touches it.
The second is wanting the whole thing in one box. The Tape Extension Removal Kit is $85 and contains the remover, 60 tabs and the application tool. The Complete Tape Extension System is $95 and adds the written method. Assembling the equivalent from Big Kizzy means Remover 1 at $16.99, a tab pack, and the Application Tool at $29.99 as a separate line - or the Essentials Kit at $49.99, which is genuinely good value and contains the Remover 1 and 2 bundle plus three 72-tab packs of Regular Hold, but not the tool.
The third is the yield arithmetic. 4.0 fl oz at $25 gives about 30 removals, which is about $0.83 each, and we publish the sum rather than the conclusion. Big Kizzy do not publish a removals-per-bottle figure and neither does Bellami, so nobody can do that comparison and we are not going to guess at theirs. On per-ounce, which is the figure that can be checked, Big Kizzy win comfortably.
What it does well
- Tab and solvent engineered against each other rather than against a whole category
- Oil-free, so removal and re-tabbing happen in one appointment with no shampoo
- About $0.83 a removal, published with the arithmetic shown
- Full formulation published - isopropyl alcohol, methyl ethyl ketone, ethyl acetate, deionised water
- 60 tabs is exactly one full head, 30 sandwiches, so there is no leftover pack to store
Where it loses
The most expensive option on this page by a wide margin - $0.75 a tab against $0.22, and $6.25 an ounce against $2.12. One tab line against Big Kizzy's thirteen and Walker's eight. One remover against Big Kizzy's five. No standalone application tool, no bulk formats, no single-sided tab, nothing for stranded residue, and zero verified customer reviews published to date. The matched-pair advantage is worth nothing on anyone else's adhesive.
Verdict. Worth the premium only if the pairing, the single box or the published yield is specifically what you are leaving to get. Otherwise it is not.
4. The Hair Shop Tape-in Remover
3.4 fl oz (100ml) for $9.50, about $2.79 an ounce - needle-nose applicator - full INCI published, contains mineral oil
This is the cheapest bottle in this comparison and the most transparent about what is in it, and it comes with one property you have to decide about.
$9.50 for 3.4 fl oz is about $2.79 an ounce, so slightly dearer per ounce than Big Kizzy Remover 1 at about $2.12 but less than half of ours at $6.25. The published ingredient list is complete: Isopropyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Panthenol, Water, Mineral Oil, Fragrance and Blue 1. The needle-nose tip places solvent at the bond rather than misting it across a section, which we prefer on a full head even though it is slower.
Mineral oil is the thing to weigh. It is in the formula, so this is not an oil-free remover in the sense the rest of this page uses the term. The product page nonetheless states that no cleaning is needed before re-taping. That is the brand's claim and we have not tested it. Our own position, and it is a judgement rather than a measurement, is that any oil in a solvent is a reason to check the section before pressing a new tab, because adhesive on a residue film is the failure mode that produces a slipped bond three days later.
The listing also carries a fragrance and a colourant, which is worth knowing if you are choosing a remover for a client with a known fragrance sensitivity. And when we read the page on 31 August 2026 it was marked out of stock and final sale, so availability is a live question rather than a theoretical one.
What it does well
- $9.50 for 3.4 fl oz, about $2.79 an ounce
- Complete INCI published on the product page
- Needle-nose applicator places solvent precisely at the bond
- The brand states no cleaning is needed before re-taping
Where it loses
Contains mineral oil, so it is not oil-free in the way Big Kizzy Remover 1, Bellami's Release Spray and ours are, and the no-wash claim is the brand's rather than something we have verified. The formula also carries a fragrance and Blue 1. It was marked out of stock and final sale when we read the page, and there is no matched tab from the same company to pair it with.
Verdict. Good value and unusually transparent. Read the ingredient list, decide how you feel about mineral oil, and check stock before planning around it.
5. Babe and Hotheads Tape-In Pro Replacement Tape and Extension Tape Tabs
Babe: 48 pieces a pack, medical-grade adhesive, price behind a stylist login - Hotheads: 60 count, double-sided, sold through authorised distributors only
Both of these are worth naming because a lot of stylists leaving Big Kizzy are not leaving for a cheaper tab, they are leaving because they want to consolidate onto whatever their distributor already carries.
Babe list their Tape-In Pro Replacement Tape as 48 pieces a pack with a medical-grade adhesive. Hotheads list their Extension Tape Tabs at 60 count, double-sided, and name their authorised distributors on the page - Beauty Solutions, Salon Service Group, Masello, Paramount Beauty and Premier Beauty.
Neither publishes a price. Babe show a Login To View Price link where the figure would be. Hotheads show no figure at all and route you to a distributor. That means no per-tab arithmetic is possible for either from public information, and we have left those cells blank rather than fill them with a number we made up.
For a salon that already has an account with one of those distributors this is a genuine convenience: one invoice, one rep, one delivery. For anyone else it is a wall. And it is worth noticing that the count matters. A 48-piece pack is 24 sandwiches, which is short of a full head, so a Babe pack does not map onto one appointment the way a 60-count does.
Both brands also run substantial education programmes, which is a real reason to be inside a professional channel rather than buying consumables from a website. That is not something we can match at our size and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
What it does well
- Available through established professional distributors on an existing account
- Babe state a medical-grade adhesive and a 48-piece pack
- Hotheads state a 60-count double-sided pack, which is exactly one full head
- Both brands run education programmes a consumables company cannot match
Where it loses
Neither publishes a price, so no per-tab cost can be worked out from public information and no honest comparison against Big Kizzy's published figures is possible. Babe's 48-piece pack is 24 sandwiches, short of a full head. Neither company sells an oil-free bond remover matched to its own tape.
Verdict. The right route if you already buy through a distributor. Not a route you can price before you commit.
6. Marketplace generics, and why they are the only honest answer on pure price
Typically 60-120 count at $6-12, roughly $0.05-0.15 a tab, adhesive grade generally unstated
This entry exists because the page would be dishonest without it. If price is genuinely your only reason for leaving Big Kizzy, no branded alternative on this page is cheaper than Regular Hold at about $0.22 a tab. What is cheaper is the unbranded marketplace tab, and you should know what you are buying.
The characteristic problem is not that these are uniformly bad. It is batch inconsistency. One pack behaves like a decent adhesive and the next one, ordered from the same listing three months later, does not, because there is no stated adhesive grade, no stated manufacturer and nothing that obliges the seller to keep the formulation stable. Big Kizzy state medical grade and made in the USA on their tab pages and describe the tabs as latex-free. Babe state medical-grade adhesive. Bellami state an acrylic adhesive with a polyurethane carrier. A generic listing states a count and a price.
The arithmetic that matters is not the pack price. A full head is 60 tabs. At $0.22 a tab that is $13.20 of Big Kizzy consumables. At $0.10 it is $6.00. You are saving about seven dollars a head. One slipped bond that brings a client back into the chair for a fifteen-minute fix costs more than that saving does across a dozen heads, and one matted removal costs more than the whole year.
We are not saying these products are unsafe or that they never work, because we have no basis for either claim. We are saying that the variable you cannot control is consistency, and consistency is the whole point of a specified adhesive.
What it does well
- Genuinely the cheapest tabs available, roughly $0.05-0.15 each
- Standard 4cm x 0.8cm footprint on most listings, so they physically fit
Where it loses
Adhesive grade, manufacturer and formulation are generally unstated, so nothing obliges the seller to keep one batch the same as the last. The failure mode is inconsistency between packs rather than uniform poor quality, which is harder to plan around. At about seven dollars saved per head against Big Kizzy, a single slipped bond wipes out months of the saving.
Verdict. Where pure price leads, and we would not follow it. If money is the constraint, Big Kizzy Regular Hold at about $0.22 is the floor we would work to.
Stay with Big Kizzy if any of this describes you
Stay with Big Kizzy if consumable cost is your binding constraint, if you install more than one brand of hair, if you want to specify the tab per head, if you need a residue or conditioning remover as well as a bond remover, or if you want the application tool as a standalone purchase. On all five of those they are the correct answer and nothing on this page beats them.
- Money is the constraint. Regular Hold at 72 for $15.99 is about $0.22 a tab and Remover 1 at 8 fl oz for $16.99 is about $2.12 an ounce. Nothing named on this page undercuts both of those from a brand that states an adhesive grade.
- You install mixed brands. Remover 1 is built to be universal, which is exactly the right shape for a book where you do not know what you are dissolving. A matched solvent is the wrong shape for that work, including ours.
- You want to specify per head. Thirteen named tab lines across double-sided and single-sided formats covers density, visibility, colour and hold. We sell one tab. Walker sell eight but will not show you a price.
- You need more than a bond remover. Remover 2 is oil-based and residue-targeted, which is the right tool for adhesive a previous bad removal has stranded down the hair shaft. Remover 3 is conditioning. We make neither, and nothing else on this page does either.
- You want the press tool on its own. The Application Tool is $29.99 as a separate line. Ours only exists inside the $85 kit, which is a straightforward gap on our side.
- You buy in volume. Their tab pages list 144, 600 and 12,000-tab configurations at stated discounts. Nobody else on this page offers a bulk bag at all.
Why you are leaving, and where that should send you
Four reasons account for almost every person who arrives here. They route to four different places and two of them route straight back to Big Kizzy.
| Why you are leaving | Switch to | Why that is the answer |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Nowhere - stay, or accept unspecified generics | Regular Hold is about $0.22 a tab and Remover 1 about $2.12 an ounce. Bellami is $0.25, we are $0.75. Nothing branded undercuts them. |
| Brand recognition | Nowhere - stay | Big Kizzy is the best-known specialist name in this category. Every alternative here is smaller, less known, or a hair company that also sells tape. |
| You want the tape and solvent from one company | Vanity, or Bellami | Ours were developed against each other over about ten years. Bellami's spray is built around their own tape-in and K-tip bonds, at $12.00. |
| You want everything in one box | Vanity Removal Kit or Complete System | $85 and $95 include remover, 60 tabs, tool and, at $95, the written method. Big Kizzy's Essentials Kit at $49.99 is cheaper but does not include the tool. |
| You want the yield published | Vanity | About 30 removals from 4.0 fl oz at $25, about $0.83 each, with the arithmetic shown. No other brand here publishes removals per bottle. |
| You want a hypoallergenic or asymmetric tab | Walker Tape Beautify | No Shine is described as hypoallergenic; Duo-Pro and Duo-Elite treat the weft side and the hair side differently. Nobody else sells either. Expect a trade login before you see a price. |
| You want a residue or conditioning remover | Nowhere - stay | Remover 2 and Remover 3 have no equivalent on this page. We do not make one and neither does Bellami or Walker for extensions. |
| You want to buy through your distributor | Babe or Hotheads | Both sell through the professional channel. Neither publishes a price, so you cannot cost it in advance. |
Two of the eight rows route back to the incumbent. That is the honest shape of this decision and we would rather print it than pad the page.
The price gap, stated plainly
A full head is 30 sandwiches, which is 60 tabs. That single number turns a price list into a decision, so here it is worked through on published figures with the blanks left blank.
| Brand | Published pack | Per tab | 60 tabs, one head | Remover, per ounce |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Big Kizzy Regular Hold | 72 for $15.99 | About $0.22 | About $13.20 | About $2.12 |
| Big Kizzy Extra Hold | 72 for $27.99 | About $0.39 | About $23.40 | About $2.12 |
| Bellami single sided | 48 for $12.00 | $0.25 | $15.00 | Not published - no volume stated |
| Walker Beautify | 120 a bag | C-22 sold separately, price behind login | ||
| Vanity | 60 for $45 | $0.75 | $45.00 | $6.25 |
Big Kizzy's collection page shows Extra Hold from $15.99 while the Extra Hold product page shows $27.99 for a single 72-tab pack; we have printed both rather than pick one. Bulk configurations at 144, 600 and 12,000 tabs carry stated discounts of 13, 25 and 40 percent, which take the per-tab figure lower again.
Scale it. A stylist doing two move-ups a week is a hundred heads a year. At about $0.22 a tab that is roughly $1,320 of tabs. At our $0.75 it is $4,500. The gap is over three thousand dollars a year in consumables alone, before the remover. If you cannot articulate what you are buying with that money, the arithmetic should decide it, and the arithmetic points back at Big Kizzy.
What a matched pair actually buys you, and what it does not
This is the one claim we make that Big Kizzy structurally cannot, so it is worth being precise about how small it is.
Remover 1 is engineered to release every tape adhesive in circulation. Big Kizzy's own Regular Hold page lists Bellami, Donna Bella, HairTalk, Babe and Glam Seamless among the brands their tabs work with, and the remover is built on the same premise. That is the right decision for a company selling into salons that install whatever a client brings, and it makes Remover 1 the most useful single bottle in this category.
A universal solvent is a compromise everywhere by definition. Ours is asked to do one job: release our adhesive. What we observe in our own chair is that more bonds open on the first application, so a full-head removal has fewer repeat waits. That is an observation from a working salon rather than a controlled result, and we have not measured it under laboratory conditions. It is also worth nothing at all on somebody else's tape. If you are not going to run our tabs, our remover is just an expensive alcohol solvent and you should buy Remover 1.
Removers side by side, on what each brand actually publishes
| Remover | Price | Volume | Per ounce | Base | Ingredients published |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Big Kizzy Remover 1 | From $16.99 | 8 fl oz | About $2.12 | Alcohol, stated oil-free | No |
| Big Kizzy Remover 2 | $14.99 | Not published | Oil-based, residue | No | |
| Big Kizzy Remover 3 | From $13.99 | Not published | Conditioning | No | |
| Bellami Release Spray | $12.00 | Not published | Alcohol | Yes, full INCI | |
| The Hair Shop Tape-in Remover | $9.50 | 3.4 fl oz | About $2.79 | Alcohol with mineral oil | Yes, full INCI |
| Walker Beautify Extension Release | Login required | 4 fl oz | Alcohol, evaporates without cleanup | No | |
| Walker Beautify No Trace | Login required | 4 fl oz | Alcohol, evaporates without cleanup | No | |
| Walker C-22 Solvent | Login required | 4, 12 and 128 fl oz | Oil-based, citrus | No - SDS names only aloe at 5-10% | |
| Vanity Clean Remover | $25 | 4.0 fl oz | $6.25 | Alcohol, oil-free | Yes - IPA, MEK, ethyl acetate, deionised water |
Blank cells mean the brand does not publish the figure. Big Kizzy publish 8 fl oz for Remover 1 but no volume for Removers 2 and 3; Bellami publish a full ingredient list but no bottle size; Walker publish neither a price nor an ingredient list for any remover. Four brands here sell a solvent that leaves nothing behind, so the no-wash workflow is not exclusive to any of us. We have not estimated a single missing figure.
If price is the whole reason
Reorder Big Kizzy Regular Hold and Remover 1. About $0.22 a tab and $2.12 an ounce, oil-free, from a brand that states medical grade and made in the USA. We would rather you got a clean removal than a Vanity order. Read our full Big Kizzy review
Switching without stripping the install
- Do not pull the hair to change tape brandsTabs at the standard 4cm by 0.8cm footprint are interchangeable, so you change brands at the next scheduled move-up rather than by taking down a working install. There is no benefit to an early removal and there is real risk in one.
- Buy one pack, not a yearAdhesive degrades in heat and humidity, and a 600-tab bulk bag takes a long time to work through. Whichever way you go, run a single pack across three or four heads before you commit stock.
- Keep the old remover in the drawerIf you are moving to a matched pair, keep Remover 1 anyway. Every stylist taking tape-in clients inherits somebody else's install, and on an unknown adhesive a universal solvent is the better tool. This is not diplomacy, it is what we do.
- Count what you actually useSixty tabs is one full head. If your packs are running out mid-head, the pack count is wrong for your book, not the adhesive. A 48-count pack is 24 sandwiches and short by six.
- Test release on one section firstOn the first removal with a new solvent, do one section, wait the stated time, and see whether the bond opens on the first application before you commit to a whole head on an unfamiliar product.
If you install more than one brand of hair
The framing of an alternatives page suggests you have to replace one thing with another. In a working salon that is usually false, and the configuration we would actually recommend to a mixed-brand book is unglamorous.
Keep Big Kizzy Remover 1 in the drawer for inherited installs, because universal is exactly what you need when you cannot identify the adhesive. Keep Remover 2 for adhesive that a previous bad removal has stranded down the hair shaft, because nothing else on this page addresses that and we do not make one. Then run whatever tab and solvent you have chosen on your own installs, where the pairing is doing something. Two suppliers means two accounts and more shelf space, which is a real cost for a small salon, and it is still the right answer for most books.
Re-tabbing another brand's hair
Standard tabs fit any standard weft, so you can strip and re-tab hair bought from Bellami, Babe or anyone else. The remover is a different question and we have written that up separately. Does Vanity work with other brands
What Big Kizzy does better than us
Price, on every comparable line. Regular Hold at 72 for $15.99 is about $0.22 a tab against our $0.75, and Remover 1 at 8 fl oz for $16.99 is about $2.12 an ounce against our $6.25. Across a hundred heads a year that is thousands of dollars, and no argument about engineering makes it smaller.
Range. Thirteen named tab lines across double-sided and single-sided formats, covering hold, visibility and hair colour, against our single tab. A stylist inside their range specifies per head. A stylist inside ours compromises.
Five removers to our one. Remover 1 for the bond, Remover 2 for stranded residue, Remover 3 for conditioning, plus a Pro Remover from $8.99 and a keratin bond gel at $9.99. We make the first of those and nothing else. For a client arriving with adhesive already stranded down the hair shaft, their Remover 2 is a better tool than anything we sell.
The Application Tool at $29.99 standalone. Ours only exists inside the $85 Removal Kit, so somebody who owns everything else cannot buy the one piece they are missing from us. There is no defence for that and we have not tried to construct one.
Bulk. Their tab pages offer 144, 600 and 12,000-tab configurations at stated discounts of 13, 25 and 40 percent. We sell one count in one size.
Bottle size. Eight fluid ounces against our four, at a third of the price per ounce. A salon buying by volume is better served by their format than ours in every respect except which adhesive it was tuned against.
Review volume. Big Kizzy carry substantial published review counts on their own store and on Amazon. We have zero verified customer reviews published to date and display no ratings anywhere on this site. That is a genuine information advantage for a buyer.
What this comparison is based on, and what it is not
This page rests on two things: using Big Kizzy, Walker and our own products in a working salon in Orem, Utah, and the prices and specifications published on each brand's own product pages, all opened on 31 August 2026 and listed in full below. Our own figures are our published prices divided by our published counts, with the arithmetic shown so you can check it rather than take it.
We have not run a controlled laboratory comparison of adhesion, wear duration or residue on any product named here, and nothing on this page should be read as one. Every wear figure - Big Kizzy's 5+ and 7+ weeks, Walker's 4-6 weeks, Bellami's 4-10 weeks - is the manufacturer's own claim reproduced as a claim. Our observation that a matched pair releases on the first application more often is an observation from our own chair, not a measured result.
We sell a competing product and Big Kizzy beat us on price, range, bulk options, remover choice and standalone tooling. Those conclusions are stated in the answer at the top, in the tables, in our own entry and in a section of its own. We have no affiliate arrangement with any brand named here and earn nothing from any link on this page except our own.
