BELLAMI tape alternatives

By Jaci Finch, licensed cosmetologist (Utah)21 years behind the chairUpdated 2026-08-31

Bellami wins on price: $0.25 a tab against our $0.75, and a $12.00 oil-free remover with published ingredients against our $25. Leave only for a matched tape-and-solvent pair, a complete kit in one box, or published yield arithmetic. If Bellami tape is holding, there is no failure here to escape.

We sell a tape tab and an oil-free remover that compete directly with Bellami's, and theirs are cheaper than ours on both. We do not sell hair at all, which Bellami does. This is the page on this site where our positioning is weakest and we have written it that way rather than around it. We have no affiliate arrangement with any brand named here. Every third-party figure traces to a page opened on 31 August 2026 and listed at the foot.

This is the page where our own positioning holds up worst, so it is worth clearing the ground before anything else. Four things are true about Bellami's tape products and every one of them cuts against us.

They are cheaper per tab. Single Sided Replacement Tape is $12.00 for 48 tabs, which is $0.25 each, at the same 4cm by 0.8cm the whole category uses. Ours is $45 for 60, which is $0.75. They are cheaper on the remover. Their Hair Extension Release Spray is $12.00; ours is $25. Their remover is oil-free like ours - it is alcohol-based, so nothing oily is deposited and you can press a fresh tab in the same appointment without a clarifying wash. And they publish their ingredients like we do: Isopropyl Alcohol, Propanediol, Neopentyl, Glycol Diheptanoate, Isododecane, printed on the product page, alongside a statement that the formulation contains no petrochemicals or synthetic colorants.

So the two claims a smaller brand would normally reach for here - only oil-free, only transparent - are both false, and we are not going to make either of them. What survives is narrower and we will argue it in one section rather than spread it across the page.

There is a second thing to be honest about, because a page like this is usually where a competitor reaches for a review score. Bellami's Trustpilot record is 3.7 out of 5 across 13,553 reviews, with 18 percent at one star, ranked 13th of 14 in its Trustpilot category. That is a real and checkable figure. But the complaint themes in it are tangling, shedding, matting, colour mismatch and price relative to quality. They are complaints about the hair. There is no credible complaint corpus about Bellami tape slipping or leaving adhesive residue, and a page that implied one would be dishonest. If you are only buying tabs and solvent, that review record is largely not about the products you are buying, and we would rather say so.

What we judged, and what we refused to judge

Bellami's replacement tape and Release Spray are the products in scope here, not their hair. We judged each option on published price per tab, published remover price and base, whether the ingredient list is disclosed, whether the tape and solvent came from the same engineering process, whether the pack maps onto a full head, and what each brand does not publish. We have used Bellami hair and re-tabbed it with our own tabs in a working salon. We have run no laboratory test of adhesion, wear or residue on anything here. And we have deliberately not built an argument out of Bellami's review record, because the complaints there are about hair quality rather than tape performance and using them against their tape would be dishonest.

Figures as published on each brand's own product pages, read 31 August 2026. Bellami do not publish a bottle size for the Release Spray, so no per-ounce or per-removal figure for it exists and we have not computed one. Walker publish no price without a trade login.

1. Big Kizzy Regular Hold tabs and Remover 1

The cheapest published switch, and the widest range in the category

72 tabs for $15.99, about $0.22 each, 4cm x 0.8cm, stated 5+ weeks - Remover 1, 8 fl oz from $16.99, about $2.12 an ounce, oil-free

If you are leaving Bellami for anything to do with cost, range or supply independence, this is the answer.

On price they undercut Bellami slightly and us heavily: Regular Hold is 72 tabs for $15.99, about $0.22 each, against Bellami's $0.25 and our $0.75. Extra Hold is $27.99 for 72 with a stated 7+ week hold. Bulk configurations run to 144, 600 and 12,000 tabs at stated discounts of 13, 25 and 40 percent, which nobody else on this page offers at all.

On range they are the deepest supplier in the category. Their tape collection lists thirteen named lines across double-sided and single-sided formats - Extra Hold, Regular Hold, Original Brown, Seamless Hold, Ultra Stick, Pro Hold, Classic Blue, No Show and their single-sided equivalents. Bellami sell three replacement tape SKUs and a roll. If you want to specify the tab per head rather than take what the hair company supplies, that is the difference.

On the remover, Remover 1 is 8 fl oz from $16.99, which is about $2.12 an ounce, and their page describes it as oil-free and alcohol-based. Crucially, Big Kizzy publish the bottle size. Bellami do not publish theirs, so a $12.00 spray of unknown volume cannot be compared against an $16.99 bottle of 8 fl oz in either direction. If you want to know what your solvent actually costs to use, Big Kizzy is the only brand on this page other than us that gives you the numbers to work it out.

The supply-chain point is the one people underrate. Big Kizzy do not sell hair; their Regular Hold page names Bellami, Donna Bella, HairTalk, Babe and Glam Seamless as compatible brands. A tab supplier that is independent of your hair supplier does not change its tape when it changes its hair line, and does not leave you without a source of tabs if the hair business moves on. Two brands in this category have exited the US market in the last year and their customers discovered exactly that.

What they do not publish is an ingredient list for Remover 1. Their page states alcohol-based and oil-free and stops there. On that specific point Bellami's disclosure is better, and so is ours.

What it does well

  • About $0.22 a tab on a published 72-count pack, undercutting Bellami's $0.25
  • Thirteen named tab lines against Bellami's three replacement SKUs
  • Remover 1 publishes both price and volume - 8 fl oz from $16.99, about $2.12 an ounce
  • Bulk bags at 144, 600 and 12,000 tabs with stated discounts
  • Independent of any hair line, and explicitly compatible with Bellami wefts

Where it loses

No ingredient list published for any of their removers, where Bellami publish a full INCI. No removals-per-bottle figure, so per-removal cost cannot be worked out. One remover serves thirteen adhesive lines, so release is tuned across a family rather than against a specific bond. And they sell no hair and run no stylist certification programme, so nothing here replaces what a Bellami account gives a salon beyond the tape.

Verdict. The default switch. Cheaper, deeper, independent of any hair line, and the only brand here besides us that publishes both a price and a volume for its solvent.

2. Walker Tape Beautify extension tabs

A hypoallergenic or asymmetric tab, which no hair company sells

Eight extension tab SKUs at 120 pieces a bag, for extensions up to 1cm x 4cm - stated 4-6 weeks - pricing behind a trade login

Bellami sell one adhesive construction: acrylic adhesive on a polyurethane carrier, described on the page as the strongest hold kept flexible by the carrier. That is a reasonable single answer and it is a single answer. Walker sell eight.

Their Beautify line lists eight extension tab SKUs, all at 120 pieces a bag, sized for extensions up to 1cm by 4cm. No Shine is described as hypoallergenic with a dull finish. Duo-Pro is described on Walker's own site as the first tape made exclusively for extensions, with one side designed for wefts and the other optimised for hair. Duo-Elite holds harder on the natural-hair side. Pro-Flex II, Natural Hold and a single-sided Natural Hold fill out the range.

If your reason for leaving Bellami is a client whose scalp reacts, or a weft that keeps sliding out of the tab while the tab stays stuck to the hair, Walker is the only brand on this page that sells a product designed around either problem. Walker have also been formulating adhesive since 1985 and make their own, which neither Bellami nor Big Kizzy nor we do.

The obstacle is commercial. Every Beautify page shows Log in to see price. You cannot cost a head before opening a trade account, which is a step backwards from Bellami, whose individual product pages do show public retail prices even though their collection pages are gated behind a pro login.

Walker also state 4-6 weeks for all Beautify tapes, against Bellami's 4-10. That is a shorter claim, and we think Walker deserve credit for the conservatism rather than criticism, but it is still a smaller promise than the one you have now.

What it does well

  • Eight extension tab formulations at 120 a bag, against Bellami's three replacement SKUs
  • No Shine is described as hypoallergenic, a claim no hair company on this page makes
  • Duo-Pro and Duo-Elite treat the weft side and the hair side differently
  • Forty years of in-house adhesive manufacturing
  • Stated 4-6 weeks, more conservative than most extension brands claim

Where it loses

No published pricing at all - every extension tab page requires a trade login, which is worse than Bellami's public product pages. The matched solvent is C-22, which Walker specify as oil-based with high residue, so it forces a clarifying wash that Bellami's Release Spray does not. Walker publish no ingredient list for C-22 either; their safety data sheet names only aloe barbadensis leaf juice at 5-10 percent and withholds the rest.

Verdict. The right switch for a specific tab property. Not the right switch if what you liked about Bellami was seeing a price and an ingredient list.

3. Vanity Replacement Tape Tabs and The Clean Remover

One company's tab and solvent, engineered against each other, with the yield publishedAbout $0.83

60 tabs for $45 ($0.75 a tab, 30 sandwiches, one full head) - 4.0 fl oz remover for $25, about 30 removals, about $0.83 a removal, $6.25 an ounce

We are three times Bellami's price per tab and more than twice their price on the remover, and their remover is oil-free and fully disclosed just as ours is. So this entry has to stand on three specific things or it does not stand at all.

The first is the matched pair, and it is the only structural argument we have. Bellami's Release Spray has to work against every adhesive it might meet - their own tape-in bonds, their K-tip bonds, and whatever else a stylist puts in front of it. Their own page states it dissolves adhesives used with Tape-In and K-Tip extensions. That is a sensible product decision for a company selling four extension methods, and it means the solvent is tuned across a family. Ours is asked to do exactly one job: release our adhesive. Jaci Finch and Tru Eastman developed the tab and the solvent against each other over about ten years of daily salon use, adjusting one when the other misbehaved. What we observe is that more bonds open on the first application of our own tape. That is an observation from our chair rather than a controlled result, and it is worth nothing whatsoever on Bellami's adhesive.

The second is the complete system in one box. The Tape Extension Removal Kit is $85 with the remover, 60 tabs and the application tool. The Complete Tape Extension System is $95 and adds the written method. Bellami sell tabs and spray as separate lines and route their education into a $1,199 Master Class. There is no middle option there for a stylist who wants the tooling and the method to arrive with the consumables.

The third is the arithmetic. 4.0 fl oz at $25 gives about 30 removals, which is about $0.83 each. We publish the sum. Bellami publish a $12.00 price and no bottle size, so nobody can work out what their spray costs per removal - not us, not you, not them on that page. That is not a criticism of the formulation, which looks sound. It is a criticism of the disclosure, and it is the one disclosure gap where we are ahead of them rather than level.

Everything else on this page they do as well or better. Their tabs are cheaper. Their remover is cheaper. Their remover is oil-free. Their ingredient list is published. They sell the hair, which we do not sell at all. And they run a certification programme we cannot match.

What it does well

  • Tab and solvent developed against each other over about ten years of daily salon use
  • Everything in one box at $85 or $95, including the application tool and the written method
  • About $0.83 a removal, published with the arithmetic - the only per-removal figure on this page
  • Full formulation published - isopropyl alcohol, methyl ethyl ketone, ethyl acetate, deionised water
  • 60 tabs is exactly one full head, where Bellami's single sided pack of 48 is 24 sandwiches

Where it loses

Three times Bellami's price per tab - $0.75 against $0.25 - and more than double on the remover, $25 against $12.00. One tab line against their three replacement SKUs plus a roll, and against Big Kizzy's thirteen. We sell no hair at all, no education programme, no single-sided tab, no roll format, no standalone application tool, and we have zero verified customer reviews published to date against Bellami's 13,553. The matched pair is worth nothing on their adhesive.

Verdict. Worth the premium only for the pairing, the single box or the published yield. On price, range, hair, education and review volume, Bellami win and we are not going to argue it.

4. What Bellami's review record actually says, and what it does not

Deciding whether the reputation is a reason to leave the tape

Trustpilot 3.7/5, 13,553 reviews, 18 percent one-star, ranked 13th of 14 in category - themes are hair quality, not tape

A competitor writing this page has an obvious temptation and it is worth naming rather than yielding to.

The numbers are real. Bellami's Trustpilot profile shows 3.7 out of 5 from 13,553 reviews, with 64 percent at five stars and 18 percent at one, ranked 13th of 14 in its Hair Extensions Supplier category and 44th of 55 in Hair Product Store. That is a checkable fact and we have cited it rather than hinted at it.

What it is about matters more than what it scores. Reading the recent one-star reviews, the themes are hair that the reviewer believes is not the quality they paid for, hair that tangled or matted or shed sooner than a previous set, colour that arrived wrong and arrived wrong again on the replacement, and customer service that was hard to reach. Those are complaints about hair and about service.

They are not complaints about tape slipping, bonds failing early, or adhesive residue left on the hair. We looked for a complaint corpus about Bellami tape and did not find one. If you are buying replacement tabs and a release spray - the products this page is about - that review record is largely about a different product line, and treating it as evidence against the tape would be dishonest.

The honest reading is narrower and still useful: a 3.7 with 18 percent one-star tells you something about the experience of buying hair from a large direct-to-consumer brand, including fulfilment and colour matching. If your reason for leaving is that experience, then leaving the hair is the decision and the tape is incidental - and in that case a tab supplier independent of any hair line is worth considering regardless of which hair you move to.

What it does well

  • The figure is published, checkable and large - 13,553 reviews is a meaningful sample
  • 64 percent of those reviews are five-star
  • The complaint themes are specific and consistent, which makes them informative

Where it loses

The record says nothing useful about the tape or the remover, which are the products on this page. Anyone using a hair-quality complaint corpus to argue that Bellami tape fails is misrepresenting it, and we would treat a page that did so as unreliable on everything else too.

Verdict. Cite it accurately or leave it alone. It is a reason to think about where you buy hair, not a reason to leave the tape.

5. Babe and Hotheads Tape-In Pro Replacement Tape and Extension Tape Tabs

Salons moving their whole extension supply to a distributor account

Babe: 48 pieces a pack, medical-grade adhesive, price behind a stylist login - Hotheads: 60 count, double-sided, authorised distributors only

Both of these are direct competitors to Bellami rather than to us, and they are the natural destination for a salon that is leaving Bellami as a whole rather than leaving its tape.

Babe list their Tape-In Pro Replacement Tape at 48 pieces a pack with a medical-grade adhesive - the same count as Bellami's single sided pack, and the same short-of-a-head arithmetic, 24 sandwiches against the 30 a full head needs. Where the price should be there is a Login To View Price link. Hotheads list Extension Tape Tabs at 60 count, double-sided, and route buyers to named authorised distributors: Beauty Solutions, Salon Service Group, Masello, Paramount Beauty and Premier Beauty.

So on pricing visibility this is a step backwards from Bellami, whose individual product pages do show public retail figures even though the collection pages are gated. On distribution it is a step forwards for anyone who already holds a distributor account, because tabs go onto an invoice that already exists.

Both brands also run education programmes, which is the closest thing on this page to the BELLAMI Academy. If part of what a Bellami account gave your salon was certification and training rather than product, this is where that transfers to. It does not transfer to us; we sell four products and a written guide.

Neither company sells an oil-free bond remover matched to its own tape, so the solvent question stays open either way and you will be buying that from Big Kizzy, Bellami or us regardless.

What it does well

  • Available on an existing professional distributor account
  • Hotheads state a 60-count pack, exactly one full head
  • Babe state a medical-grade adhesive at 48 pieces a pack
  • Both run stylist education programmes comparable in intent to BELLAMI Academy

Where it loses

Neither publishes a price, which is worse disclosure than Bellami's public product pages. Babe's 48-piece pack is 24 sandwiches, short of a full head, exactly as Bellami's is. Neither sells a matched oil-free bond remover, so the solvent decision is unresolved either way.

Verdict. The right move if you are leaving the whole Bellami relationship for another professional brand. Not an upgrade on price transparency.

Stay with Bellami if any of this describes you

Stay with Bellami if you install their hair, if consumable cost matters, if you want an oil-free remover with the full ingredient list published at $12.00, if you want tabs sized to their own tape-in lines, or if BELLAMI Academy is part of what you bought. Their tabs are $0.25 against our $0.75 and their remover is $12.00 against our $25, and their tape is not what people complain about.

  • You install Bellami hair. Their replacement tape is cut for their own Tape-In Classic, Deluxe and Express Weft lines, and the weft strips carry the same medical-grade adhesive as the Classic tape-ins. Nothing matches that as neatly as the brand's own part.
  • Consumable cost matters. $0.25 a tab and a $12.00 remover is cheaper than us on both counts and cheaper on the remover than everyone on this page except The Hair Shop.
  • You want the ingredient list. The Release Spray publishes its full INCI and states no petrochemicals or synthetic colorants. Big Kizzy publish no ingredients for any remover, and neither does Walker.
  • You want the oil-free workflow. Their spray is alcohol-based, so nothing oily is deposited and you can press a fresh tab in the same appointment. On that decisive property Bellami, Big Kizzy and we do not differ at all.
  • You want education. BELLAMI Academy Master Class is $1,199 over two days, covers tape-ins, K-tips, I-tips and wefts, includes a full stylist kit and certification, and is restricted to licensed stylists and cosmetology students. A four-product company cannot build that and we have not tried.
  • You want the hair and the tape from one supplier. We do not sell hair. That is not a limitation we can work around; it is what the business is.

Why you are leaving, and where that should send you

Almost everyone arriving here has one of seven reasons. Three of them route back to Bellami.

Why you are leavingSwitch toWhy that is the answer
PriceBig KizzyAbout $0.22 a tab on a 72-count pack against Bellami's $0.25, with bulk bags at 600 and 12,000. We are $0.75 and are not the answer here.
You want a deeper tab rangeBig Kizzy or WalkerThirteen named lines at Big Kizzy, eight Beautify formulations at Walker, against Bellami's three replacement SKUs plus a roll.
You want a supplier independent of your hair brandBig Kizzy or VanityNeither of us sells hair, so the tab does not follow a hair line. Two brands in this category have exited the US market recently and left customers without a tab source.
You want the solvent matched to the tapeVanityBellami's spray must work on their tape-ins and their K-tips. Ours was built against one adhesive over about ten years.
You want to know what a removal costsVanityAbout $0.83 a removal from 4.0 fl oz at $25. Bellami publish no bottle size, so no per-removal figure for their spray exists.
Bellami's reviews worry youNowhere, on the tapeThe 3.7 out of 5 across 13,553 reviews is about hair quality, colour matching and service. There is no credible complaint corpus about their tape.
You want a hypoallergenic tabWalker Tape BeautifyNo Shine carries that description. Bellami, Big Kizzy and we do not make the claim.
You want the hair tooNowhere - stayWe sell no hair at all. If a single supplier for hair and tape is the point, Bellami is doing exactly what you want.

Two rows route back to Bellami and one routes nowhere. That is the honest shape of a decision about a brand whose tape is not the thing going wrong.

The price comparison, printed rather than avoided

A full head is 30 sandwiches, which is 60 tabs. Here is what that costs on published figures, with the unpublished cells left empty.

BrandTab pack, as publishedPer tab60 tabs, one headRemoverPer ounce
Bellami single sided48 for $12.00$0.25$15.00$12.00Not published - no volume stated

Vanity60 for $45$0.75$45.00$25, 4.0 fl oz$6.25
Walker Beautify120 a bagC-22, login required

Bellami do not publish the Double Sided tab count, the weft strip count, or the Release Spray bottle size. Those cells are empty because no honest figure exists for them, not because we could not be bothered to look.

Scale it. A hundred heads a year is 6,000 tabs. At Bellami's $0.25 that is $1,500. At our $0.75 it is $4,500. The gap is three thousand dollars a year in tabs alone and it is not a rounding error in a small business. If you cannot say specifically what you are buying with that money, buy theirs.

What actually survives for us, argued once

There are exactly three things and we are going to state them in one place rather than sprinkle them through the page as though there were more.

  • The matched pair. Bellami's Release Spray is stated on their own page to dissolve adhesives used with Tape-In and K-Tip extensions, which means it is built to serve at least two bond chemistries and in practice whatever else a stylist puts in front of it. Our solvent serves one adhesive and was developed alongside it over about ten years of daily salon use. That is a real structural difference and it produces exactly one benefit: more bonds opening on the first application of our own tape, observed in our chair rather than measured in a laboratory. On Bellami's adhesive it is worth nothing.
  • The complete system in one box. $85 for the remover, 60 tabs and the application tool; $95 with the written method. Bellami sell tabs at $12.00 and $15.00, strips at $11.00, a roll at $10.00 and a spray at $12.00 as separate lines, then route method into a $1,199 Master Class. There is nothing in between.
  • The published yield. About 30 removals from 4.0 fl oz at $25 is about $0.83 each, with the sum printed. Bellami publish a price and no volume. Big Kizzy publish a volume and no removals figure. Nobody else on this page lets you calculate the cost of a single removal.

That is the whole argument. It is narrow on purpose. Anyone telling you the oil-free workflow or a published ingredient list is exclusive to us is wrong, and we would rather correct it here than have you find out on Bellami's product page in one click.

If price is the reason

Reorder Bellami, or move to Big Kizzy Regular Hold at about $0.22 a tab. Both are cheaper than us and both keep the oil-free workflow. We would rather you got a clean removal than a Vanity order. Our budget tab guide

Independence from the hair brand, and why it is not a theory

There is one argument for a tape specialist that has nothing to do with formulation, and it has become a lot more concrete in the last year.

When your tabs and your solvent come from the company that sells your hair, your consumable supply is tied to that company's commercial decisions. If the hair line changes, the replacement tab follows the line. If the brand exits a market, the tab and the solvent go with it, and the clients with that hair installed are still in your chair needing a move-up. Two brands in this category have left their US customers in that position recently, which is why we mention it rather than argue it in the abstract.

Bellami are operational and healthy, so this is not a prediction about them. It is a structural point about where you buy consumables, and it applies equally to a stylist buying tabs from any hair company. Big Kizzy answer it as well as we do and they are cheaper, which is why they are ranked first on this page and we are third.

Adhesive described on the double-sided page as acrylic adhesive for the strongest hold with a polyurethane carrier to keep it flexible. The weft strips are described as carrying the same medical-grade adhesive used in the Classic Tape-Ins. Wear figures are Bellami's own claims reproduced as claims; we have run no wear test.

For context on the hair those tabs support: Bellami state Tape-In Classic at 2.5g a piece and 20 pieces a pack with a 4-8 week wear claim, Tape-In Deluxe at 5g and 10 pieces with 4-6 weeks, and Tape-In Express Weft at 15-35g and 2 wefts with 4 weeks. Site-wide they claim their extensions last up to 6-12 months with proper care. Those are the hair claims, not the tape claims, and they are the brand's own.

Switching without a bad appointment

  1. Do not take down a working installBellami tabs and every alternative here are the standard 4cm by 0.8cm footprint, so you change tab brands at the next scheduled move-up. There is no benefit to an early removal and there is real risk of breakage in one.
  2. Keep using Bellami hair if you like itChanging your tab supplier does not mean changing your hair supplier. Their wefts take standard tabs from anyone, and Big Kizzy list Bellami by name as a compatible brand on their own tab page.
  3. Check the count against a headSixty tabs is 30 sandwiches, which is one full head. Bellami's single sided pack of 48 is 24 sandwiches, so you are opening a second pack six sandwiches from the end unless you plan for it.
  4. Test release on one sectionOn your first removal with a new solvent, do one section, wait the stated time, and check whether the bond opens on the first application before committing to a whole head on an unfamiliar product.
  5. Buy one pack before you buy a yearAdhesive degrades in heat and humidity. Run a single pack across three or four heads and let your own chair decide before you commit stock or a bulk bag.

Re-tabbing Bellami hair with another brand's tabs

Standard tabs fit Bellami wefts - strip the old tape, clean the weft edge, re-tab. We have written up which brands' hair we have done this with and where it goes wrong. Does Vanity work with other brands

What BELLAMI does better than us

Price, on both products. $0.25 a tab against our $0.75, and a $12.00 remover against our $25. Across a hundred heads a year that is roughly three thousand dollars in tabs alone. There is no version of this comparison where that is not the headline.

They sell the hair. We do not sell hair at all, in any form. For a salon that wants one supplier, one account and one colour system for the wefts and the tape that holds them, Bellami is doing exactly what is wanted and we are not an alternative to it.

Education. The BELLAMI Academy Master Class is $1,199 over two days, covers tape-ins, K-tips, I-tips and wefts, includes a full stylist kit and a trolley bag, ends in certification, and is restricted to licensed stylists and cosmetology students. That is genuine education infrastructure. A four-product company cannot build it and we sell a written guide instead.

Ingredient disclosure on equal terms, and cheaper. Their Release Spray publishes a complete INCI and states no petrochemicals or synthetic colorants, at $12.00. We publish ours at $25. On transparency we are level, not ahead, and on price for that transparency we are behind.

The oil-free workflow, which we do not own. Their spray is alcohol-based, so removal and re-tabbing happen in one appointment with no clarifying wash. That is the same behaviour our remover delivers and the same behaviour Big Kizzy Remover 1 delivers. Anyone claiming it as exclusive to us is wrong.

Tabs cut for specific hair lines. Their weft strips are made for the Express Weft line and described as carrying the same medical-grade adhesive as the Classic tape-ins. A generic tab from a specialist is a compromise against a part designed for the exact weft it is going on.

Review volume. 13,553 published Trustpilot reviews against our zero. Whatever the score, that is an enormous information advantage for a buyer trying to decide, and we display no ratings anywhere on this site because we have none to display.

What this comparison is based on, and what it is not

This page rests on Bellami's own published product pages for the replacement tape, the weft strips, the tape roll, the Release Spray, the tape-in lines and the Academy Master Class, together with the equivalent pages at Big Kizzy, Walker Tape, Babe and Hotheads, all opened on 31 August 2026 and listed in full below. The Trustpilot figures are the platform's own published numbers, read the same day. Our own figures are our published prices divided by our published counts, with the arithmetic shown.

We have run no laboratory test of adhesion, wear duration or residue on any product named here, and nothing on this page should be read as one. Every wear figure - Bellami's 4-10 weeks, Big Kizzy's 5+ and 7+, Walker's 4-6 - is the manufacturer's own claim reproduced as a claim. Our observation that a matched pair releases on the first application more often is an observation from our own chair, not a measured result. We report Bellami's Trustpilot score as a cited third-party fact in prose and in a table; this site emits no rating markup of any kind.

We sell a competing tab and remover, and Bellami beat us on price for both, sell the hair we do not sell, publish their ingredients as we do, deliver the same oil-free workflow, and run education infrastructure we cannot match. We have deliberately not used their hair-quality review record as an argument against their tape, because the complaint themes are not about tape performance and doing so would be dishonest. We have no affiliate arrangement with any brand named here and earn nothing from any link on this page except our own.

Questions we get asked

What is a good alternative to BELLAMI replacement tape?

Big Kizzy Regular Hold, for most people: 72 tabs for $15.99, about $0.22 each, at the same 4cm by 0.8cm footprint, from a supplier independent of any hair line. Walker's Beautify range is the alternative if you want a specific tab property such as a hypoallergenic formulation. Ours is $0.75 a tab and is only worth it for the matched pair, the single box or the published yield.

How much is BELLAMI replacement tape?

Single Sided Replacement Tape is $12.00 for 48 tabs, which is $0.25 each, at 4cm by 0.8cm with a stated 4-10 week hold. Double Sided is $15.00 with the count not published. Single-Sided Replacement Tape Strips for the weft line are $11.00 and a Double-Sided Replacement Tape Roll is $10.00 for 3 yards.

Is BELLAMI tape cheaper than Vanity?

Yes, substantially, on both products. Their single sided tabs are $0.25 each against our $0.75, and their Hair Extension Release Spray is $12.00 against our $25. On a 60-tab full head that is $15.00 of their consumables against $45 of ours. We do not have an argument that makes that gap smaller.

Is the BELLAMI Release Spray oil-free?

It is alcohol-based, and Bellami publish the full ingredient list: Isopropyl Alcohol, Propanediol, Neopentyl, Glycol Diheptanoate, Isododecane, with a statement that the formulation contains no petrochemicals or synthetic colorants. That means the same practical behaviour our oil-free remover has - nothing oily deposited, so no clarifying wash before a fresh tab goes on.

How big is the BELLAMI Release Spray bottle?

Bellami do not publish the bottle size, which means no per-ounce and no per-removal figure exists for it. We looked and could not find one, and we are not going to estimate it. For comparison, Big Kizzy publish 8 fl oz for Remover 1 and we publish 4.0 fl oz for ours, so both of those can be costed per use and theirs cannot.

Does BELLAMI tape actually fail? What do the reviews say?

Not that we can find. Bellami's Trustpilot record is 3.7 out of 5 across 13,553 reviews with 18 percent at one star, ranked 13th of 14 in its category, and the recurring complaint themes are tangling, shedding, matting, colour mismatch and price relative to quality. Those are complaints about the hair. There is no credible complaint corpus about their tape slipping or leaving residue, and we are not going to imply one.

Can I use other brands' tabs on BELLAMI hair?

Yes. Bellami publish 4cm by 0.8cm for their replacement tape and Big Kizzy publish the same dimension for theirs, so the footprints are interchangeable across essentially any tape-in weft. Big Kizzy even name Bellami on their own Regular Hold page as a compatible brand. Strip the old tape, clean the weft edge and re-tab.

How many tabs are in a BELLAMI pack, and is that a full head?

The single sided pack is 48, which is 24 sandwiches. A full head is 30 sandwiches, or 60 tabs, so a single pack is six sandwiches short. The double sided count is not published. Big Kizzy pack 72, Hotheads pack 60 and we pack 60, all of which cover a head.

What adhesive does BELLAMI use?

Their double sided page describes acrylic adhesive for the strongest hold with a polyurethane carrier to keep the tabs flexible, and the weft strips are described as carrying the same medical-grade adhesive used in their Classic Tape-Ins. Stated hold is 4-10 weeks. That is the brand's own claim, reproduced as a claim; we have run no wear test on it.

Should I switch from BELLAMI to Vanity?

Only for three reasons: you want the tape and the solvent built against each other by one company, you want the tool and the written method in the box at $85 or $95, or you want the yield arithmetic published. On price, range, hair, education and review volume Bellami win. If none of those three reasons is yours, stay.

Is a tape specialist better than buying tabs from my hair brand?

It is a different trade rather than a better one. A hair brand cuts its tabs for its own wefts, which is a genuine advantage. A specialist is independent of any hair line, so its tab does not change when a hair line changes and does not disappear if a hair business exits a market - which has happened twice in this category recently. Big Kizzy answer that as well as we do and cost less.

Does BELLAMI publish stylist pricing?

Individual product pages show public retail prices, but collection pages are gated behind a Sign Up Or Login for pro pricing prompt and the stylist discount percentage is never published. So you can see retail, and you cannot see what you would actually pay as a professional until you have an account. Big Kizzy and we publish one price for everyone.

What does BELLAMI Academy cost?

The Master Class is $1,199.00 for two days, nine to five, covering tape-ins, K-tips, I-tips and wefts, including a full stylist kit with a trolley bag, a manual and consultation cards, ending in certification. It is restricted to licensed stylists, barbers and enrolled cosmetology students. We have nothing comparable and are not going to pretend a written guide is the same thing.

Is the BELLAMI Release Spray flammable?

It is isopropyl alcohol based, so treat it as flammable, exactly as you would ours and Big Kizzy's Remover 1. Keep it away from heat, sparks and open flame, work in a ventilated space, and cap it between bonds. That handling requirement is the price of a fast-evaporating solvent, and fast evaporation is what makes same-day re-tabbing possible.
